Who Are You Supporting??     

I feel that my Mother has shown me how to be a strong person.  As a single parent, my mother put in all the hours required by Habitat for the home we now live in.  And she now does childcare and takes in foster children out of our home to support our family.

Despite being low-income, my Mother & Grandmother make sure I am able to participate in activities to build on my future.   I enjoy theatre, cheerleading, dance, science & media summer camps, and track (relay, hurdles & high jump).  Find out more about me at:  http://facebook.com/kaleighdavis1998

My community involvement includes church at The Celebration Center, volunteering at The Salvation Army Shelter, representative of Rachel's Challenge at school, GuildBuilder Member - doing free play presentations to school children and senior citizens. Helping Mom with Foster Care.. And more..

Please know that I intend to give back to my community when I return.  I will speak to schools and clubs - using my newfound knowledge, my required daily journal and pictures I'll be taking.  And being in the situation myself, I feel that my taking this trip will help give other low-income individuals hope that if they work hard at something that they really want, it can happen!
